Today's Prayer

I Understand Now Based on Mark 9:49-50 I lifted the salt from the Dead Sea’s edge So sharp, and bright; it’s upper most layer So dark, and brown, dirty it’s lower depths. I understand now. The closer I am to you O God The purer and more beautiful I am. The farther away I am to you O God The duller and more lifeless I become. I understand now. Come, O God into my being. Enliven me, enlighten me, brighten me. Let me taste the salt of your love. Let me be salt for you. Amen.
