A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Psalm 103 (UMH Hymnal, page 824 verses 1-8)

Bless the Lord, O my soul!

and all that is within me,

bless God’s holy name!

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and forget not all God’s benefits,

who forgives all your iniquity,

who heals all your diseases,

who redeems your life from the pit,

who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good as long as you live  so that you youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord, who works vindication

and justice for all who are oppressed,

has made known God’s ways to Moses,      God’s acts to the people of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious,

slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Holy One,

I remember from taking Disciple Bible Study and the section, Our Human Condition, which detailed how easy it is to stumble and fall.  I ask that you forgive me of the ways that I have sinned and fallen short. I desire to be a disciple who tries to please you each and every day. Thank you for having friends that help me along this journey. Thank you for this shared Daily Prayer each day which helps me to grow in you. Thank you for the healing blessings that I encounter each day. Thank you for I know that your Word is powerful and that prayer changes things. Thank You!
