A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

"How long will you keep us in suspense? Jesus answered, "I have told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name testify to me … but you do not believe, because you do not belong to my sheep. My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. What my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one." — John 10:24-30 Jesus, how often do I not hear because the words are not what I want to hear? How often does my need to figure it all out keep me from following the lead of the one, you, who I trust? How often does fear of slipping out of your hand prevent me from confident living in your Spirit? LORD, you are my shepherd and I shall not want for you bring me to green pastures with still waters where my soul is restored. Lead me, beloved, in the righteous ways that honor you And through the treacherous valleys where your comfort is my strength. With those who oppose and threaten me I yearn to sit at the table you prepare, where anointed healing happens and love fills to overflowing. Let me hear these words, now and always, that goodness and mercy are upon me and the open door to your own home is before me. Rev. Karen L. Munson, DMIN, Many Waters District Superintendent With references to Psalm 23.
