A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions. Today's Prayer
The United Methodist Church is celebrating 25 Years of the Order of Deacon, who are ordained to word, service, justice and compassion. This week we are celebrating the wide variety of ways that our conference has lived this out through our laity and clergy.
O triune God, There are times when we covet the lives and possessions of others. May we pause and be filled with the fullness of You. There are times when we act without considering who will be harmed, or try to cover up our mistakes. May we pause and be strengthened in our inner being by the power of the Spirit. There are times when we hurt others in an attempt to save ourselves. May we pause and remember we are rooted and grounded in the love of our Savior, Christ. Remind us, O God, to pause often so that we might recognize Your power at work within us and through us may the power of Your love reach out into the world that all might know Your perfect peace. AMEN Based on 2 Samuel 11:1-15 and Ephesians 3:14-21
