A Daily Prayer During this COVID-19 Crisis

June 25, 2021

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

June 25 marks the 71st remembrance of the Korean War, which costed nearly 5 million lives. The Armistice Treaty of 1953 (the war never ended with a peace treaty), left the people of two Koreas under tension and conflict. More than 10 million people have been separated from their families, many of whom passed away without ever meeting again. Today, the Korean Caucus of the New England Conference asks all to join in remembrance and prayer for peace and reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula. Please pray with the hymn O-So-So in the Faith We Sing 2232. Please use the video of this hymn with your congregation, inviting all to pray and work for the peace and reconciliation of all lives and places that are divided and in need of reconciliation and unity. O-So-So, O-So-So, pyung-hwa eui im-gum, u-ri-ga han-mom i-ru-ge ha-so-so. Come, now O Prince of Peace, make us one body. Come, O Lord Jesus, reconcile your people. O-So-So, O-So-So, sa-rang eui im-gum, u-ri-ga han-mom i-ru-ge ha-so-so. Come now, O God of love, make us one body, Come, O Lord Jesus, reconcile your people. O-So-So, O-So-So, cha-yu eui im-gum, u-ri-ga han-mom i-ru-ge ha-so-so. Come now and set us free O God our Saviour, Come, O Lord Jesus, reconcile your people. O-So-So, O-So-So, tong-il eui im-gum, u-ri-ga han-mom i-ru-ge ha-so-so. Come, Hope of unity, make us one body, Come, O Lord Jesus, reconcile your people. Sad to think there was never a peace treaty. I cannot imagine never being able to see my family every again. I am sure many people died of broken hearts.
