Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
We have the opportunity to walk any path which presents itself. But which is the right one? These verses remind me today that if I stay in God’s Word, and trust in the Holy Spirit when it nudges me, I will be on the right path. When I am wondering about God’s will for me, I need to turn to him and trust.
Holy, holy, holy Lord, I am yours. Show me the way. Show me your will. I will follow. Amen

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. I am learning that I am perfectly useless as a believer if all I do is conform to this world around me. If I am not wasting my live with this kind of earthly success I am being transformed. First of all I have to understand what is the will of God. Throughout the Bible the will of God often means what he saids he does and it always happens. God is sovereign. He decides what happens. He gave u…
Psalm 119:105 – Proverbs 3:5–6 There is a beautiful song in a cantata I have been a part of. It is called “trust in the lord.” The lines of the song speak to both of these verses. It reminds us to trust when things seem darkest, when hope seems gone, and you feel abandoned. Then we are reminded that God has not left and you are not alone. A light still shines. The way is clear! It reminds us of the comfort we experience when we surrender. Not my will but yours dear Lord – I can trust your faithful word. That surrender brings peace, sweet peace. What a beautiful message! Prayer: Gracious God, thank you for reminding me of this beautif…

Psalms 119:105.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths.
Lamps are used to create light in the dark for the safety of movement and activity. With enough light to walk through life, God gives me the direction that I need, not all at once, but whenever I need it. In this way, God’s Word works as a form of direction. God’s Word is like a lamp in bringing light to each of us. When we compare God’s Word bei…
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
These verses speak to me in that I should trust God with all my hearts. Include God in everything I do and give Him a chance to keep me on the right track. I may not always know what lies ahead but God does, and He will guide me in everything I do, if I believe. Trusting God with all my heart means that there is no room for doubt. God will never deceive…
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
As Christians we believe that the Old Testament contains God’s word. By committing to the word, we try to be guided by the will of God found there. It shines a light on my path. It doesn’t say anything about how easy or pain free that path will be, but God’s plan will be followed.
Dear Lord, I have never accepted that my life is pre-ordained, but that I have choices to make. I do believe that there is a purpose for what happens in my life, and that following your word will fulfill that purpose. Amen.
