Acts 4:31
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
In this passage, Peter and other disciples and believers prayed to God to give them power to do His work. God sent his Holy Spirit. This is God living in me. This is the "advocate". If I lack boldness in life, in any situation, I need only look to God.
Holy One, when I lack the boldness to step out and do what I need to do, you are there to help. Help me to remember to turn to you always, in any and every situation. Amen

Acts 4:31
And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

The disciples had a job to do—spread the good news of Christ wherever they went and despite being arrested and doubted, they had the courage/boldness to continue thanks to the Holy Spirit. I don’t think I’ve ever been bold about anything in my life—and yet as I’ve gotten older, I find myself doing things for God that I wouldn’t have done when I was younger. I’m glad the Holy Spirit is nudging me toward boldness.
Prayer: Gracious God, Thank you for helping me find my boldness and use to help others in your name. Amen
Acts 4:31 Nowhere is this verse more appropriate than in countries where sharing the gospel can be met with violence, imprisonment or execution. I just read yesterday an interview with Wang Yi, a Chinese pastor currently serving a nine year sentence for running a house church in defiance of the government’s oppressive control
of official state approved churches. In the interview, Pastor Yi “calls churches to face repression boldly.” What’s more, he says, “We raise our voice to seek mercy for all of our persecutors.” Now that is boldness!
Prayer - God of power and might grant me the boldness to be Your witness, even when it may be difficult to do so. Let me bring to mind the boldness of…
