Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
We have been hearing a lot about the “still, small
voice,” which is God speaking to us. The writer of today’s devotion needed to get more exercise, but only could do it at night, in the dark, because of her other responsibilities. She was repeatedly reminded of God’s presence and his power by the sound of the waves and the wind, and the beautiful clouds and stars in the sky. This became for her a time and a place to find God, no doubt. It is easy to take God’s creation for granted, but even easier if we consider it our own, to do with as we wish. Recognizing God in all creation includes acknowledging his sovereignty. The earth, and everything in it, belongs to God.
Holy Lord, I am thankful for all you have created- you have made so much accessible to me… but it is you I long to grow closer to. Be with me Lord, and let me hear your voice, I pray. Amen

Psalm 19:1
Every time I am blessed with the sight of beauty in nature the first thing I think about is what an awesome God we have. I am fortunate to live in a coastal city. The sunrises on the east coast of Florida are spectacular. Even though I’m not a morning person, I do find myself, from time to time, at the beach at sunrise. Almost child-like, I am giddy as I anticipate and wait for the sun to emerge over the horizon and it never disappoints and it never gets old. In those quiet moments on the beach, I feel very close to God and I am grateful for everything that he provides for us. Anytime I see…

Creator of Heaven and earth
(Focus: to notice God’s presence in creation
Psalm 19:1 Psalm 19:1
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
While the writer in this morning’s upper room explained their time with God was for later in the evening time, my early morning in the cool of the day is on my sundeck, to open my eyes and ears to the wonder of God’s creation. I talk with him thanking him for my blessings and all that I have, discussing any and all issues that I am facing. The surroundings include My flower garden the beautiful fragrance…
Psalm 19:1-9
God created the most beautiful, intricate, and complex things--the human body is one of the best. How anyone cannot see God all around us amazes me. The birth of a child, the sunrises I capture, the call of a loon, even the mamma bear eating out of my birdfeeder. I realize I am blessed to live where I do. I also realize we need to work hard, no matter where we live, to respect and protect this amazing natural world.
Prayer: Gracious God, .....when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, they power throughout the universe displayed...How Great Thou Art. AMEN
Psalm 19:1
Creation care has seen increased emphasis in recent years and this is an aspect of faith and worship that I can relate to easily. Next week will be week one of six of summer camp for Scouts at Hidden Valley Scout Reservation on Lake Eileen. Ministry in the great outdoors provides an atmosphere like no other to sense the presence of God. Getting 11 to 18-year-olds to actually make an effort to do that is another story. Not all will, but for those who do, it will be life-changing and a portal into a life of faith.
Prayer - God of all creation, our misuse of the gift You have given us calls for repentance and changed ways…
