Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Today when I read this familiar passage, I am struck with the words “every situation.” There is no situation in which we are unable to turn to God with our concerns. This access to peace through Christ is available 24:7. Even when I am agitated or upset over some minor happening, God is willing and available to help me to calm down. Turning to God for peace draws me closer to Him.
Father God, thank you for your gift of Jesus Christ and your Holy Spirit. I can turn to you whenever I need peace. I need never spend precious time agitated over unimportant things. Amen
