Psalm 37:7
Be still before the LORD
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
These words from the Psalms were part of Mendelssohn’s Elijah. I used to play this piece (Rest in the Lord) on the piano, and once I played along while my friend Jane sang for God and the congregation. “Oh rest in the Lord, wait patiently for him. And he shall give you your heart’s desires.”
Beautiful words to remind us to be patient and to rest, knowing God will provide. If not this minute, for all eternity we will be taken care of.
God above, thank you for this peace. Help me to take it to heart. Amen

Psalm 37:7
Hold the course, stay focused on your journey. Don’t worry about those who you perceive to be ahead of you or those who want to pull you into poor choices. The good Lord will provide for you and equip you to meet your challenges.
Heavenly Father, please help me to stay on course, your course. Amen.
Psalm 37:7
Being still, being patient, and not worrying are all things I struggle with. I am doing better with being still and being with Him. I feel Transformers has helped me with that. BUT patience and worry are much harder. I do trust that, in the end, the Lord will make all things good and right, but his timing has me worrying. So much wickedness is happening and there seems to be no end in sight.
Prayer: Gracious God, If I really trust, I should worry less. Help me with that. AMEN
Psalm 37:7
One can forfeit any sense of resting in the Lord by constantly being tied up in knots over the actions of those perceived to be wicked people. If all of the loud and angry voices of protest and perpetual outrage that seemingly constantly surround us would take but a little time to be still before God, count blessings and diligently seek ways to improve themselves rather than hectoring everyone else, they would be taking real, tangible steps toward making the world a better place.
Prayer - Silence any noise emanating from me that tears down rather than builds up. When I can find nothing good to say, make me still before You to regain a proper perspective, to…
