Ephesians 2:10
For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
This verse got me thinking in a direction I had not explored in the past. Before this verse, I had always thought of God sending Jesus to "look like us" in order to be able to best teach us, and reach people in a way they could accept and understand. But, if we were created in God's image, and Jesus was part of creation, it is we who look like Jesus, and not Jesus who looks like us! So, our identity in Christ includes the physical. The good works God has prepared for us to do are works we can (and should strive to) achieve, as physical beings.
Holy Lord, you have made me in your own image, and I honor this physical aspect of myself. Help me to see and accomplish the works you have planned for me. Amen

Prayer: Gracious God, In all I do, may I always do it for you and with love. Amen
