A Daily Devotion for Tuesday, September 19

Colossians 3:16

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Again we see music as a means of communication with each other as well as a way to glorify and praise God. I love the words "songs from the Spirit." It feels very much as if the Holy Spirit wakes me up to take notice when I hear certain music. I must become more aware of this, and speak to God each and every time this happens.

Holy Lord, although music can be simple, it can be very important in our communication with each other as well as with you. I am so thankful for music, thankful to you, Lord, for giving your creation this priceless gift. Amen
