Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed- not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence- continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
The knowledge that God is working in me to do His will, is a bit intimidating. Here again is this new (to me) concept of “blessing.” God is at work through me, and he gives me what I need in order to help that work along. It makes sense, then, that not all “blessings” will look like gifts. Some may be painful, or difficult to see in a positive light. But when we are in relationship with Him, we know we should work with what God sends our way.
Holy Father, I am learning to see challenges in a new way. Help me to remember you are always with me, and have not left me alone to deal with “problems.” You are beside me, to work on your plan. Amen

Philippians 2:12–13 Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you and now that I am away, it is even more important to work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. To both the churches at Corinth and Philippi, Paul talks about how we are blessed by God and to use those blessings for the greater good. He wanted the churches he started to stay the course of working together, remembering the sacrifice made by God and his son that saves us all. I know God is working in me – but I…

I feel that I am being told to work out my own salvation by following the words we find in Scripture. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I will receive the blessings to continue on this path to salvation. It is by hearing the call of God through the Holy Spirit that I will be able to live my life as God intended me to do.

Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
What does it mean to work out our salvation with fear and trembling? Paul isn’t encouraging believers to live in a condition of fear and trembling. God has already done the work of salvation in me. He has saved me, forgiven me, rescued me,gave me his Holy Spirit within me and united me to Jesus. But that doesn’t mean that I simply sit back and…
Philippians 2:12-13
Saying or doing what the Holy Spirit directs can sometimes result in fear and trembling, but will reliably produce blessing. There are times we will be asked to stretch ourselves beyond what we perceive our capabilities to be, but if we respond in faith, God honors that choice with blessing.
Prayer - Patient God, please forgive me for hesitating to do what the Spirit urges. Eliminate my fear and trembling over uncertainty, rejection, failure or rebuke. Allow me to be the vessel of Your blessing to others. Amen
