Psalm 30: 11-12

You turned my wailing into dancing;

you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,

that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.

Lord my God, I will praise you forever.

These verses are a prayer of thanks. God brings us joy and laughter after every crisis. Sometimes it is so difficult to see past our immediate grief or worry or doubt. But, God always comes through with joy.

Heavenly Father, I am thankful. Sometimes I lose faith in your steadfast love for me. I must never lose sight of that love, for it is by your grace I take each breath. And you lead me back to joy and laughter so often! I am forever grateful. Amen

Embracing forgiveness is sometimes difficult to accept when you can’t even forgive yourself. Knowing that God is such a forgiving God is a gift of grace and peace. It is such a wonderful feeling knowing that all your sins are wiped. We can always depend on God to help us through the worst things in life and to always forgive our sins as long as we repent.

Dearest Lord, you are a forgiving God. One who takes us as we are. The change in…

This verse is telling me that the result of prayer, and faith that God will do what is best for me, will bring me peace and joy. It is always so hard to see any good coming from suffering but when I look back on it, I usually see something good. It may be the end of suffering for someone, the strengthening of my faith, or the strong example for other to follow.

Dear Lord, help me to see how your response to the…

Psalm 30:11–12 As we read on Friday in Ecclesiastes, there is a time for everything. After a time of mourning or times of illness and uncertainty, we should have no trouble praising God and dancing. However, it is the last line that is important. Not just now when things are good, but “Oh Lord my God I will give thanks forever.” Prayer: gracious God, May I remember to be praising you during all times of life – easy and difficult. Amen

Psalm 30: 11-12 In this psalm, King David is giving thanks for recovery from a serious illness. Becky and I were blessed to see Bev yesterday and she looked great! Based on what she was saying, one could get the impression she was nearing being ready to dance and that prompted both laughter and an admonition to take things slowly during her recovery. Feeling better after a rough time always lifts our spirits and being secure in the knowledge God is with us is at times enough to make a a want to dance.

Prayer. Holy God, we give thanks for the recovery from surgery of Janet and Bev. Seeng them shed the pain that simply walking would produce brings smiles…
