Luke 2:40
And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.
It is fascinating to think about Jesus as a boy. Mary knew he was special, but did not know how his life would play out, or what his role would be. When did she see glimpses of the power of her son? My questions and thoughts this morning are captured in the lyrics of the beautiful song, "Mary, Did You Know?" Did she know she kissed the face of God?
Holy Lord, What Jesus was like as a boy is one of the mysteries we cannot unravel here and now. Perhaps you will share more with us when we are finally together. Maybe I should start a list of my questions? :o) Amen

I'm sorry Tom. This has happened to me many times.
Luke 2:40
When I taught Sunday school, the children always wanted to know about Jesus, the little boy. They decided he was probably much like them and played games outside with friends, helped his parents, and sent to church and school. Someone imagined he was good at settling arguments between children. All in all, I think they were more right than wrong. He probably spent more time with Joseph learning carpentry that they could imagine. Those children knew Jesus was just like them as a boy.
Prayer: Gracious God, I wish more children came to our churches to learn about Jesus. Amen

Because Jesus had to experience the physical and emotional development that every child undergoes, we know that He totally understands every stage of our development and every circumstance we meet. He understands our challenges and temptations for He was faced with the same, yet Jesus was without sin. He did exactly what…
