Romans 13:8
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
Although knowing and accepting Christ sets us free from many things, we are never free from God’s command to love one another. This is how we are commanded to live our lives. If I profess to follow Jesus, I must be loving and forgiving, fair and generous. When I fall short, I need to correct myself, and make things right to the best of my ability. I need to try harder, and do better, every day.
Holy Lord, you have given so much to me, poured your grace upon me, and have asked me only to love. I sometimes live as if I deserve this incredible gift of life, ignoring your simple instruction to love my neighbor. Forgive me, I pray. My life is from you, and is all about you. I am thankful, Amen

Romans 13:8
In one of his most important parables, Jesus tells us to love our neighbor. In the story of the Good Samaritan, he expressly explains who our neighbors are. So much of the world around us does not follow this important part of God’s Law. What is most discouraging is that these conflicts are often based on religious beliefs. So much freedom lost to some so it can be given to someone else.
Prayer: Gracious God, I pray for the world to heed your words and try to love their neighbor instead of killing them. Amen

Real love is a decision to be unselfish and to seek the very best for one another. Real love meets needs even when sacrifice is required in order to do so. Do not love with lip service but love with actions and truth. Love moves us to honest action not just to talk about it. Because I want to be like Jesus I need to love others with the same kind of gracious forgiving generous, unconditional love that Jesus extends to me. Because his love is far greater than we as…
Romans 13:8
Early in our marriage, when we lived in New York, I was a reckless spender, running multiple credit cards with high balances. Becky discovered Larry Burkett on Christian radio whose teaching centered on controlling spending and becoming debt free. She took over our finances and after cleaning up my mess we have been virtually debt free for decades. Freedom from debt is liberating and worth the effort. When one is less worried about self, it is easier to love one’s neighbor and meet them where they are.
Prayer - Generous God, thank You for the gift of a spouse who keeps our finances in such a way that we can share from our abundance with others and thus…
