Hebrews 10:19-22
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
This Lenten season I have been reminded over and over of the torn curtain. The torn curtain allows us access to the Most Holy Place, access to God. Through the breaking of His body on the cross, the barrier (sin) between God and His people was torn in two. This should make us bold in our faith!
A Lenten Haiku
Broken on the cross,
His body brings us to Him,
Rending the curtain.
Holy Lord, "thank you" does not feel like enough. You have given us our very lives and the promise to be with you for eternity. You have given us Jesus, your son, and the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us. I am yours. Amen

Hebrews 10:19-22
Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
If we have confidence in our faith we can enter directly into the holy place which is the absolute presence of God because of the blood of Jesus -- sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins. We come by …
Hebrews 10:19–20
I read many translations of these verses. The king James version actually uses the word boldness. Paul is telling us that unlike the old testament instructions to use the priests and temples to access God, Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross gives us the ability to come directly/boldly to God with no one in between. We can pray directly, we can seek forgiveness, and we can ask for help.
Prayer: gracious God, thank you for your sacrifice that allows us to speak directly to you. Amen
