Psalm 23:2-3
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
The more I read this week, the more blessed I feel. God’s creation is so intentional. Every piece in its place, with its own purpose(s). God helps me to find joy as well as providing its source. Once again, the joy is in the connection with God- my knowing He gives this freely to me. These beautiful parts of nature not only help to restore me, but they draw me to God for more healing.
Lord above, How can I give you thanks? I am so grateful. Lead me, Lord, for I am yours. Amen

So many verses in Psalm brings comfort and peace each time I read them. Almost everyone is familiar with psalm 23. These verses remind me God wants to lead me to a place of rest, a place of trust, a place of confidence, a place where I rely on Him and focus on Him without anything that will distract me. 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his mane’s sake.
I look back over my life and I can see when God stepped in to guide me along the correct path. It was a subtle nudge, but it was there to help me. God is my shepherd and he watches over me and leads me. God is always there to “deliver us from evil”, we just have to listen. Knowing that God is watching over me brings me great joy.

Psalm 23:2-3
Too often I unconsciously resist the green pastures and still waters that are freely offered by God. I tend to dwell on worst case scenarios or the apparently continuous triumph of evil. Preparation and standing for good are legitimate aims, but not at the cost of despair and separation from the comfort of being a child of God.
Prayer - God of comfort, lay me down in green pastures and lead me beside still waters in times of difficulty and stress; precisely the times when I am inclined to forget how all I need do is ask, and You will make it so. Amen
