Galatians 6:7-10
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
We know that good deeds alone are not the key to salvation. Being saved means living with the Holy Spirit, whose guidance brings us opportunities. Our good deeds do not get us into heaven. I think of them as ways to honor God and to give thanks for everything God has already done for me. I can show my thanks to God through helping others.
Holy Lord, you have given me a life which I could never “deserve”. I am so very thankful, and am willing to give my time and energy to your creation. May it be according to your will. Amen

WALKING PRAYERS
( focus: prayer ministries
Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
This verse is very clear as it encourages us not to grow weary in doing good, because in due time, we will reap a harvest if we don't give up. (This harvest is being with God through eternity). This verse calls for perseverance in acts of kindness and service, reminding us that even when facing challenges or discouragement, consistent effort in good deeds will not go unnoticed.,
Lord and savior i pray that You will help fill my heart and mind with good deeds and kindness.…
Galatians 6:7-10 Walking Prayers
I loved the author's focus on praying for a list of people as they group walked the track. We could each easily do this with the prayer list on our Sunday bulletin. No need to get a group and go to a track (although it's a great idea). Just go about your daily routine. Stop and check the list every once in a while and continue your work. Our lists aren't too long. We could probably pray for each person multiple times a day. That's a lot of prayers going where they need to go.
Prayer: Gracious God, prayer is so important and needn't be difficult. We need to make it a simple part of our d…
Galatians 6:7-10
The Upper Room writer’s interaction with the child made me think that a child is like a seedling, the seedling does best, grows and flourishes in fertile soil. We can provide that “fertile soil”, water and nourishment to them to help them grow to know and appreciate God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. This is an important role we have. Surely the seeds we sow in a young child will help them develop a strong relationship with God. This is good that we can do.
Dear Lord, thank you for the opportunity to guide children to you and for all the opportunities to do good. Amen
Galatians 6:7-10 Paul cautions us against burnout, writing that if we rely on the Holy Spirit fruit of patience, a harvest of our good works will take place. We must remember too that is is God who reaps the harvest and we may not even be present to see it come to pass. Our charge is to stay the course of sowing to please the Holy Spirit. There are opportunities daily to do good to all people. By sewing these seeds in faith we honor God and may well be another brick on the road to salvation for someone who does not yet know God.
