Psalm 96:1-11
Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and glory are in his sanctuary.
Ascribe to the LORD, all you families
families of nations,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come into his courts.
Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness;
tremble before him, all the earth.
Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns. ”
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity.
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
Nehemiah 9:6
You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.
There are so many verses in scripture giving thanks to God for the wonders and abundance of His creation. It might be easy to become complacent about creation. We are surrounded, 24/7, with the miracles of God. But scripture reminds us, over and over, that the power of God is all around us! The blood running through our bodies, the air we breathe, the trees which provide clean air, food and shelter, the animals which all play a part, the insects and the animals we love and take care of in our homes like members of our families- all are from God. How can I even try to thank Him properly? I must live my best life, to be pleasing to Him. I will love God, and no other god. I will do my best every day to love my neighbor. I will try to grow closer and closer to Him, in order to see and live out his perfect will. Amen

Psalm 96:1-11. Nehemia 9:6
The unique features of God's natural world are astounding. As put my flower beds away for the winter, I marvel at the differences in my flowers. All are flowers but each so unique. My dahlias have hundreds of individual petals, compared to the simple "face" of the pansy.
We humans are the same. So much alike, yet we each have individual features. All around us we can witness God's marvelous creations.
Prayer: Gracious God, as we marvel at your creations, may we also respect and care for them. AMEN

Gratitude for creation
(Focus to notice the creative power of God.,
Nehemiah 9:6
“You are the Lord, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you.
To truly appreciate God’s creation, I think it starts with presence and thankfulness. Taking the time to slow down and really observe the world around us—whether it’s the majesty of a mountain, the delicate petals of a flower, or even a quiet moment in nature—helps us connect with the deeper beauty in it all. God’s creation…
Psalm 96:1-11/Nehemiah 9:6
How often do I stop all the noise around me and simply give praise and thanks for the wonders of creation? There are scores of hymns of praise in the book of Psalms that do just that. For many years during my faith journey, Psalms remained an under-appreciated part of Scripture. I have always found poetry more difficult than prose and tended to skim through Psalms. I have since discovered how much I was missing. While I still have trouble digesting poetry, the spiritual discipline of reading from Psalms daily has opened my eyes to the many ways to offer praise to God and the many gifts from God for which to give thanks. Among these gifts,…
