Psalm 61:2
From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
This Psalm carries the same message as my life verse from Psalm 138. I have since taken note that in the book of Psalms, many contain this same message. I remembered Psalm 138:3 as, “When I called, you answered me. You made me bold and stouthearted.” Just this last week I went to look and find out what translation I had memorized. There were none with this exact wording! With that in mind, it is fascinating to note how often the psalmists, including David, not only called out to God, but experienced His response to them. They had called out to God, and He had given them strength, made them bold. This is not fiction. This has happened over the ages, continues to happen today, and this is our God! He is with us, giving us strength and peace. We need to continue to call out to him.
Holy Lord, when I call to you, you answer me. You make me bold and stouthearted. Please continue to hear my prayers and to help me to be strong. Amen

Psalm 61:2
God is always with us no matter the season we are in. We praise him for the peaks and pray to him in the valleys. Again ,as we’ve touched on so many times, so much is out of our control and so very difficult to try to figure out, but the one thing we can always count on is God’s presence and knowing he will guide us. We will never be alone, no matter if we doubt, he will be our anchor.
Dear God, thank you for bringing a constant presence in my life, even when I am not fully focused on You…You will patiently wait and for that I am so very grateful to You. Please guide…
Psalm 61:1-8
Sunday we sang an anthem entitled "Trust in the Lord." The theme reminds us to turn to the Lord at our most difficult moments and the song ends with the words "When I surrender I'm at peace. Complete surrender to your will brings such sweet peace." Again, we have a reading that reminds us to give our needs to God.
Prayer: Gracious God, Thank you again for another reminder to first turn to God and not ourselves. AMEN

Psalm 61:2 (NIV)
From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,
One thing I love about reading through the book of Psalms is that each Psalm usually begins with a heavy heart, and ends in praise and rejoicing. Psalm 61 is no exception. This is a call for support and strength in the face of overwhelming challenges and anxiety. It truly reminds me to seek comfort and guidance from a source beyond myself when feeling lost or overwhelmed by life's difficulties. This verse shows vulnerability and the acknowledgement of being in need of…
Psalm 61:2
In the ups and downs of life, the human heart can easily grow faint. My persistent habit is making the mistake of overestimating my ability to overcome and fix my mistakes. I too often neglect the important step of calling to the Lord from the ends of the earth of the messes that I make and admitting I need to be led to the Rock that is higher than I.
Prayer - Almighty God, please forgive me for misplacing my priorities in neglecting to be guided by You in all things. Help me stay focused on filtering all I do and say through the lens of Your love, Your plan and Your will for my life. Amen
