
Proverbs 8: 10-14
verses 10-11: Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
For some reason, over the last year or so, I have been more bothered by thoughts of missed or lost opportunities. Regrets may be too strong a word to use, but it is something like that. There are so many choices already made in life by the time we approach senior status. And we can’t do it all, be it all, see it all, etc. But choosing God, always choosing God, should be the first and the last important choice in my life. And every choice in-between needs to be informed by my relationship with God.
Holy Father, lead me, please. Guide me to a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with you. No regrets, no more missed opportunities set before me. Amen

Proverbs 8:12-13 - “I, wisdom, live with prudence, and I attain knowledge and discretion. The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.”
This is a perfect demonstration that wisdom and knowledge are not equal. Knowledge is but a small part of the greater gift of wisdom. Knowledge, untempered by the prudence and discretion that wisdom brings is the seedbed of the pride, arrogance and perverted speech that wisdom hates. My goal should always be to use my knowledge wisely in service to God and to my neighbors.
