A Daily Devotion for Monday, July 29

I Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

“Give thanks in all circumstances.” Such great counsel. There is always so much to be thankful for. When negatives or annoyances or even serious worries are on our plate, there is usually something to be thankful for tucked in somewhere. It is just hard to see the positives and to be thankful when our hearts are full of scary emotions. I suppose that looking past our worries and finding blessings to be thankful for, is part of the therapeutic process of prayer. God is there, ready to comfort and guide us.

Holy Lord, There is always much to be thankful for. Hear my prayers, and the prayers of those who are suffering today with worry and fear. Help them to see the positive and to feel your presence. Fill them with courage and hope for their brighter tomorrows. Amen

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

There is always something to be thankful for! People in difficult situations often forget that. We, transformers, have a friend, Kay who understands this. She recently fell and sprained her wrist. When she went to bed that night she prayed for all she was thankful for. She only sprained her wrist not broken it. She was,not alone so someone could help her up and get treatment. Her list went on. If only we could learn to see a light I. Our darkness sometimes. Even if that light is dim and seems far away.

Prayer: Gracious God, help me learn from my friend to always look for the blessings in all situations. Amen

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

When we remember to give thanks and praise we have a powerful weapon to fend the devil's devious ways. When I complain and grumble all the time the devil will always wear a a bright smile. When God answers my prayers and guides me in solving my problems it is easy to give my praise. It’s not always as easy when things go wrong. Whatever is going on in my life I should remain thankful. Problems or even many problems, there is always,  always,  always something to be thankful for.  …
