2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
The concept of time is an interesting one when I look in scripture. There are the beautiful verses in Ecclesiastics which talk about time here on earth, and how there is a season and a time for all things, but not all things at once. In this passage from 2 Peter, I am reminded that God’s timing is not the time of minutes, days, weeks I am used to thinking about. I need to be patient, and wait on God, because he is the one with the plan.
Holy Father, May I live each day to the fullest, glorifying you, and shining your light. I am thankful for all of the time you give me. Help me to be patient and to keep things in perspective. Amen

2 Peter 3:9 The timing of events in the Bible has always been a problem for many. Some question the timing of the creation story and as we read in this verse, many were questioning Peter about the Lord’s return. I will admit I do not think about his coming again very much. Although every time we have communion, we recite Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again. I do know, however, I need to be ready. I need to repent of my sins and work to love the Lord and do good works in his name. I know I will be with my Lord someday. Prayer: gracious God, your timing is always a mystery to me. May …
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
The Lord has no time constraints. He is patient and longsuffering and loves us all. He lets us all grow in faith in our own time, hoping that we learn to repent for our sins and work toward everlasting life with him. I have come to realize, although very slowly, how God works in my life. Everything in my life is not driven by me, it is driven by the will of God.
Dearest Lord, how patient you have been with me. It took me a long…

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Being in God’s word every day has taught you and I that a thousand years are like a day to the lord. God is not limited by time. It is easy for us to get discouraged when years pass and the world doesn’t get any better. I never want to doubt God’s word, because he is surely aware of time and the future. God does not, nor never will have our human limitations, he is not restricted by time. I must be patient a…
2 Peter 3:9
i suppose one of the reasons I tend to be impatient is that I lack an eternal perspective on the temporal things of life. Being human, I will never fully grasp this, but when seized with impatience for God to act on a prayer need whether it be peace in Ukraine, friends or loved ones in need of healing or simply rain for the garden I must try to remember God’s timing has nothing to do with time as I understand it. The early church was convinced that Jesus would be returning in their lifetimes. Here we sit, two millennia later, still waiting. Nevertheless, we have been told By Jesus Himself to stay alert. This is a…
