James 5:5
You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. (Or, 'yourselves as in a day of feasting.')
It is easy to be satisfied with where we are and with what we have. But God has made all things possible for us, including the very ground we walk on. Complacency to me implies being self-satisfied and not inclined to work much to change things. If I listen to God's message for me in this scripture, I am pushed out of my comfort zone, once again, into living out a more radical discipleship.
Holy Father, what can I do? How can I make more of a difference and live boldly as a Christian believer in this world? I will follow you, and listen. Amen
