Hebrews 4:16
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
The writer of the book of Hebrews first reminds us that Jesus knew all of the temptations that we deal with. He understands. Because of this, we know that His grace comes from a place of understanding, not a lofty out-of-touch ivory tower. Even though he himself did not sin, “Jesus gets us,” and covers us in grace.
Holy Lord, may I draw comfort from knowing that you understand. And even with this understanding, you still forgive me with an unending grace. I am thankful. Amen

I am certainly glad that I have Jesus in my life who totally understands me. He was tempted in so many various ways just as you and I may or may not be, yet he never sinned.
He was in total control of his actions and emotions, but he still understands that we are not. No matter what our situation in life looks like, we should come before the throne of grace with faith and not fear. It does not mean that we deny that our circumstances exist,…
Hebrews 4:16
Confidence and shame seem to be on opposite ends of a spectrum, but I can only approach the throne of grace with confidence after I come to terms with the irrefutable fact that I am unworthy to approach it at all. God’s love and forgiveness are gifts so all encompassing that they overcome my sin. What I need to come to terms with is that if I will assume responsibility for my personal failures and shortcomings, God, by grace alone, will absolve me of guilt. Full acceptance of this Scriptural promise is the only thing that will support the confidence to which the writer of Hebrews refers.
