Luke 6: 37-38
”Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
The last sentence here is so powerful. If I use a stingy small measure with my giving to others, keeping track and never “going over”, this is all I should expect in return. It is like the “golden rule” my mother said to me a million times in my childhood, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” God sees the spirit in which our giving is done. He knows my “measure.”
Holy Father, help me to have your love in mind when I give to others. Help me to give freely, using a generous measure. Jesus, be my guide. Amen

Luke 6:37-38 Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. I think we are all judgmental at times, I know I certainly am. I used to think it was just human nature. A lot of my judgements came through my mind and thoughts. I have heard it said “you might as well say it as to think it”. This is one thing I have to work on, to train my mind. It is taking me some time because my thoughts naturally look for the criticism. I am learning I can always find something good in other people. I never want to look down on others…
Luke 6: 37-38
Jesus juxtaposes judging, condemning and forgiveness with giving. We often think of generosity in terms of “time, talent and treasure,” but being spiritually generous calls us to refrain from judging and condemning what we may not fully understand. Perhaps more importantly, the coin of the realm of spiritual generosity is forgiveness. I am forgiven by God and therefore am called to forgive. As I forgive others they are more inclined to forgive me and thus the bank of Christian love is filled.
Prayer - Jesus, kindle a generosity of spirit in my soul that I may readily forgive and avoid being judgmental and condemning in my interactions with others. Amen

I am a very private person. I don’t like to be the center of any attention. I would be considered an introvert in today’s society. So giving of myself is difficult. But deep down I know that God wants me to give of myself when the need arises. It is through the help of the Holy Spirit that I am able to help others when needed.
Dearest Lord, thank you for the help of the Holy Spirit. I know I nee…
Luke 6:37-38 38-give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full – pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. For years I have listened to teenage groups who are just back from an inner-city mission trip. They were always amazed that the little help they were able to give made such a difference in someone else’s life. They also came to the conclusion that their lives were different, better, because of the experience. Just this week one of my Bible study group people wrote about a volunteer experience that was as “therapeutic for them as for the children.…
