Proverbs 28:13
He who conceals his sins does not prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
The second half of this verse is easy to accept for me. The first half makes me ponder. Those who conceal their sins may still prosper in an earthly way. But we don’t know what is going on in their hearts. We certainly cannot feel peaceful and in right relationship with God if we know we are hiding sinful lives. We cannot hide from God. God sees all of our sins, and knows our hearts. Prosperity on earth is temporary, my relationship with my Creator is eternal.
Father God, Create in me a clean heart. I am yours. Amen

Proverbs 28:13 This is good advice, but there is more to it. If we don’t acknowledge our sins or mistakes, we don’t learn from them. To learn from a mistake, you must openly admit it and remember it and not do it again. It is hard to admit you were wrong. True repentance comes from this acknowledgment!. You may hide your sins from those around you, but never from God. Prayer: Gracious God, I know I have learned much from past mistakes and try not to repeat them. Your mercy is important to me. Amen

Proverbs 28:13
He who conceals his sins does not prosper, But whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Every person, even the most Christian believer occasionally commits acts of sin. If we say that we have no sin, the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8) When we sin and confess, He is faithful to forgive us and This forgiveness is based on absolutely nothing that we did. The important fact is His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7), the very act that causes the sin in the first place would often lead to justifying it. If that was not possible, try to hide it, or even deny it. To le…
Proverbs 28:13
All of the proverbs can be deceptively simple. There are those in today’s world who do not conceal their sin, and in fact, revel in it, posting images and videos of themselves engaged in their sinful activities. They are so far from God, there is no conception of sin. To attempt to conceal one’s sin implies an acknowledgment that whatever the act is, it is one that grieves God. This is the prevenient grace of the Spirit, convicting that person at some deep level that there is more to a fulfilled life than what their sin can provide. We assist in God’s mission if we can move such people to repentance, not as a punishment, but with the…
Proverbs 28:13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
If I attempt to conceal my sins, then I am not admitting the guilt associated with sin. Confession brings peace and joy to my heart and helps me conquer the temptation in the future. Confessing implies a change of attitude toward sin in the future. Having repentance for my sins brings me closer to God. Knowing that he has forgiven me brings me joy and peace.
Dearest Lord, I thank you every day for your understanding nature. Your forgiveness for my wrongs is a grace and gift I hold dearly in my heart. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
