A daily prayer from the New England Conference

The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Based on Job 1:1, 2:1-10 O God, the Giver of all, We thank you for your generosity. All of us have received something from you. Yet, instead of being grateful for the things you’ve given us, We often complain and are dissatisfied by what we do not have. Forgive us our foolishness, Lord, when we knowingly or unknowingly complain or curse you. Give us the courage to receive the bad equally grateful as when we receive the good. When we go through trials, may we remember to bring ourselves closer to you. May we take your yoke upon us, so that we will be led by you and not go astray. Give us peace and joy that comes from you and you alone. For in you we put our trust. In Jesus’s name we pray. Amen
