A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? Those who have clean hands and pure hearts, who do not lift up their souls to what is false, and do not swear deceitfully. Psalm 24:3-4
On each morning, free our souls from whatever is false in and around us, O God of glory. And ascend us above all that keep us from seeking and living in your presence one moment at a time. At each noonday, turn the eyes of our hearts to our hands to join yours that are open to embrace and mend all that is hurting and broken in and around us, Holy One. And help us stand with you in trust and joy. At each sunset, burn all that is deceitful and untrue in and around us, O God of ashes. And bless us with a sleep that restores all that is gracious and sacred in and around us. Amen.
