Daily Prayer

August 26, 2021 A daily prayer from the New England Conference The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions. Today's Prayer Lord, make my pen the pen of a faithful scribe My heart a poet of your Grace Listen! The Lover of my soul comes seeking me Help me to open the chambers of my heart To embrace Him in the depths of my being Listen, He says The pandemic winter is passed And the chilling rains have come and gone Join me when the blossoms are rich and full And the seeds grow, open, and burst Walk with me in the meadows of late summer Thank you that after a season of not singing- We may open our voices again And join the heavenly choirs in anthems of praise Praise You that the stringed instruments May accompany our hearts again in song like the morning stars Like the morning stars sang in harmony with the newborn creation- Oh, what a hard music less season it has been Oh, God of every good and perfect gift Mature our gifts and call us to places where they Will be used to honor Your Name Purify us so that we will sing no discordant note And will only sing the notes of heavenly harmonies Based on Song of Solomon 2:8-13…Psalm 45:8…James 1:17 Pastor Jim Mello, Dover Foxcroft UMC, Atkinson UMC, Park St UMC Katahdin District
