Daily Prayer

August 11, 2021

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Based on Psalm 39:9-14

O Lord, we come before you in humble hearts, for you know us far better than we know about ourselves. We long for your justice and peace prevailing in our troubled world. Yet, we know too well what we have done and what we have not done. We confess to you that we are far from being faithful to you, to your word, and to your calling. O Lord, help us find our hope in you. You are ever giving and forgiving to the point of death on the cross. You continue to offer opportunity after opportunity to be faithful because you love us. So we pray that our empty and dried up cups are filled with your grace and mercy again. And we may be strengthened to resume our walk with you in this journey of faith for the sake of your kingdom. Amen!

Rev. SangChurl Bae, Lebanon (NH) and White River Junction (VT) United Methodist Churches; Granite and Green Mountain Districts
