A Daily Devotion for Monday, July 27

Isaiah 43:14-21

Verses 18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

God is always doing a new thing. Sometimes I forget this and imagine God is just sitting back, watching. But I believe God is always doing a new thing. He is watching us and helping us when we need help, especially when we call to Him and let Him know we are in need. He is softening hearts, and arranging “divine encounters” for us. He is giving us opportunities to grow, and to grow closer to Him. We can’t just sit back and watch, either. I need to pray continually. God will provide opportunities for me. I hope and pray always for one of these opportunities to make a difference in someone’s life.

Father God, you are new each day. Your works are new each day, and our opportunities are new, as well. I am thankful for everything you provide for me, and I pray I can see the opportunities you set before me. Amen
