Today's Prayer
A retelling of Psalm 148 Praise God! Praise God from the highest heaven! Praise the Lord, all angels and seraphim! Praise God, celestial bodies, comets, planets, and galaxies! Praise the Lord, Stratosphere and Magnetosphere! Let them praise God, For God is their creator. Praise the Lord, O Earth. Great blue whales, octopi, and great white sharks from the depths, Tornados, volcanos, hurricanes, and winds. Rolling hills, and Appalachian peaks, Cherry blossom trees and forsythia bushes! Foxes, moose, black bear, and Randall cattle, Carpenter ants, Cormorant, Red-bellied woodpecker! Rulers of nations and all peoples, Presidents, governors, and dictators alike! Male, female, non-binary, Toddlers, elderly, and teens together! Let them praise the name of God, Whose name is worthy to be praised, Whose glory extends beyond heaven and earth. God has raised the shofar for God’s people, Praise for the loyal and devoted, For God’s children who are closely connected to the Lord. Praise God! By Rev. Megan Stowe, Commonwealth West District Superintendent
