A daily prayer from the New England Conference

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
Loving God, on this Maundy Thursday we hear your call again to be in service. You have come to serve and through your ministry and your life service was your way. When you bowed to wash the disciples’ feet, they were confused. Your actions were those of the lowest servant, but you desired to be a model for all of us. On this day when we remember the last supper, we desire to be filled again with the grace of the meal you shared with your disciples and with us that night. May that grace flood into our world and lives that we would hear anew your commandment to “Love one another.” In a world filled with hate, war and pain, make us servants that love one another after your example. Help us to find the places where our service can bring love, peace, and healing. May our service in your love help everyone to know that we are your disciples. We pray this in the name of the one who serves us in love, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. By Rev. Dr. Wesley Palmer, Executive Director of the Preachers' Aid Society Inspired by John 13
