A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
Based on Isaiah 55:1-9 O God, We are thirsty and hungry but have no money. So, we come to you to drink the fresh water and eat the rich food you set before us because you are our Host who requires nothing but our yearning for you. Have mercy on us as we often waste our time and resource to buy and work for something meaningless that does not satisfy our deepest needs You are our only delight. You fill us with Your goodness and mercy. Do not turn away from us when we deviate from your ways, but help us know that Your thoughts and plans are much bigger and higher than what we can fathom. Go before us. Go behind us. And hold our hands whether in times of peace or war. In the precious name of Christ, our Lord, we pray. Amen. By: Rev. Songbok Bob Jon, pastor of Living Faith United Methodist Church, Putnam CT, Seacoast District
