Daily Prayer

July 22, 2021

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions. Today’s Prayer

The United Methodist Church is celebrating 25 years of the Order of Deacon, who are ordained to word, service, justice and compassion. This week we are celebrating the wide variety of ways that our conference has lived this out through our laity and clergy. “I speak of your Work” We thank you Lord and we continue to ask for Blessings. I take this time to appreciate, acknowledge, and praise the handiworks of the Lord. You, the God of perfection has given us the works of your hand, on earth to live and enjoy. You are almighty and powerful. I will speak of your glorious kingdom and your unmatchable power to others. You are the God who has promised to supply the needs and desires of your people. God, you are almighty, and your miracles are endless. Thank you, lord, for lifting our burdens and helping us see the majesty of your love and kindness. I will continue to speak of the mighty acts that has blessed my life. My testimony speaks of your glorious everlasting love to all. I speak of your faithfulness in your words and love in all your actions. I tell others of how your hand is open and satisfies the desire of every living thing. We all look and seek you for all the things we need, you always open your hand just in time. You are the God that never fails. In my expression of praise, I desire to be more like Jesus, righteous in all my ways and holy in all my works. Lord, I worship you in spirit and truth, I praise you with the essence of my being. I adore all that you are. I know that you are near me, protecting me and answering when I call. When I think of your goodness and all that you have done for me My heart cries out, Lord, I thank you for saving me. Amen, Scripture Psalm 145:10-18 Written by W. Pearl Wilkinson. W. Pearl is a certified candidate in the Deacon track from Wesley UMC in Springfield, MA, Commonwealth West District
