A daily prayer from the New England Conference
Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.
You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
As the Psalmist began “I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart”, so, too, this prayer begins: Thank you for your grace, O Lord, which through the generations blanketed your call to your servants. Thank you for those who have wrapped your grace around themselves and, like your prophet Isaiah, have said, “Here am I; send me!” Thank you for Scripture’s witness of Simon Peter, James and John, who trusted in your grace enough to leave everything and follow you. And, this day, as we also, answer your summons in our lives, we thank you for your ever-present grace with which you continue to cover us. It is this blanket of grace which warms us with forgiveness, courage, strength, wisdom, and vision to follow in your ways. It warms us, so that even as our surroundings may be chilly and unwelcoming, we are able to move forward to engage this world and share the warmth. In the name of Jesus, our Savior, this prayer is offered. Amen. Ellen Cleaves
