Daily Prayer

Nov. 28, 2021 A daily prayer from the New England Conference Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions. Today's Prayer God of Love and Light, In this season of Advent we await your coming into the midst of our lives, into the world, messy and troubled as they are. We confess that what we see around us and hear on the daily news fills us with fear and foreboding, that we feel the foundation beneath us shaking. Take away our fear and dread. Help us to stand up, to look up, to raise our heads because in spite of any appearance to the contrary, our redemption is drawing near. The Savior of the world is come, again in power and glory. Give us eyes to see and hearts to believe ... “that the kingdom of God is near ...” “Heaven and earth will pass away but [your] words will not pass away.” (Luke 21: 31, 33) Transform us through the power of your Holy Spirit that we may love you and glorify your holy name, through Christ Jesus our Savior.
