Daily Prayer

Nov. 1, 2021

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Lord of life, we live again in a time marked by more death than we can comprehend. Close to three quarters of a million persons have died in our nation alone. Many have lost their parents and grandparents. Some have said goodbye to their children and grandchildren. In times like these, we are unsure where we can find safety and certainty. Some have run to regions of misinformation and blame. Others have chosen to deny the realities that are lived by so many families across the world. In these days, we cling to you as Ruth clung to Naomi. It is in your presence, where we can find life and hope. In the miracle of the gift of vaccines, we can stand in the face of death and look for hope beyond these days of death. Reassure us of your love and grace and allow us to stand together as a Church that believes in life beyond death made possible by Christ’s love. You are our God and will not leave us. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ ou Lord. Amen.
