2 Corinthians 5:17-21
verse 20: We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
We are Christ’s ambassadors. We are given such holy and sacred work to do. It makes me wonder; if this had been a secular arrangement- would I have been fired by now? How effective have I been as an ambassador? As an ambassador I always represent Christ- every interaction I have with others should be able to be viewed through this lens. Even my behavior when no one is around to see it- still an ambassador. There is no uniform to wear to tell me when I need to behave. I represent Christ here on earth, today.
Lord, you have trusted me with such important work. Help me and guide me to do your work here on earth. I want to help, not hinder. Amen

2 Corinthians 5: 17-21

I never thought of myself as an ambassador of Christ. I don’t think I ever felt worthy enough. After reading these passages, I now know that I am part of his communication system to all. I am one of the chosen to represent Jesus to the world. I am still learning how to do this. Right now I know I fall short in this regard. I will work on being a better ambassador for Christ.
Dearest Lord, when Jesus was crucified the Apostles were left to spread His word. Now …
2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Verses. 20-21 I never thought about myself as an ambassador for Christ . An ambassador is a pretty important job, with good pay, excellent benefits. So, the rest of my time here on earth, I’m not just here for my own plans or interests, but I’m representing God’s love to those around me. Am I capable of being the only real sample of God’s love most people will ever see. What they’ll know about God’s working in peoples’ lives, they’ll get from watching MY life.Pretty scary. it means I’m not limited to MY own understanding. Since I’m representing God’s way and HIS abilities, I have access to all the best that He has to offer.…

I was thinking about this during the zoom meeting, that the disciples witnessed the ascension, knew that Jesus had been resurrected and ascended to heaven. Did that make their job of spreading the word easier or harder? Easier maybe, because of what they knew, but frustrating because those listening to them could not grasp the message. We have had 2,000 years to digest the message and a third of the world has accepted it, but in Jesus’ time it was new and unbelievable. God is still making His appeal through us

Dear Lord, give us the resolve to spread your word…
2 Corinthians 5:18 - “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation;”
Christ has given the ministry of reconciliation - God with humanity and we with one another. Recall the Great Commandment to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength AND to love our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus did not bring a ministry of piety, prosperity, social justice or other noble things. If we live out our call to be ambassadors for Christ those noble things will follow, but the first and greatest thing is reconciliation, with God and each other.
Prayer - God of reconciliation, guide my heart and mind to be true to…
