Psalm 100:1-2
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
These verses remind me to worship God, rejoice and give thanks every day. Remembering to give thanks and praise when we feel particularly blessed is important. These verses remind me we are to give thanks and praise at any time- at all times. At this time of year, we are reminded at every glance of the wonder of this season. For all God has done for me and for us all, I am truly thankful. And with God’s promises and the gift of his son, we are all blessed. Rejoice!
Father God, you are our Creator and our Savior. Blessing upon blessing you heap on us. You hold us when we feel broken. You heal our injuries, inside and out. I rejoice in the very fact of your existence. Thank- you, Lord! Amen

Psalm 100:1-2 We have talked about this before, that God is the essence of love and wisdom. We believe that He is the source of all that is good and true. Sin will be the results, if we make the choice of turning away from that love and enter into selfish desires instead. The fact that we are human makes us imperfect and prone to making mistakes. But God’s absolute mercy, is always present. Many times through our times of failure is the best time to connect with him. God condemns no one. It's our own withdrawal that makes us suffer.The good news is there is a way for God to enter our lives, all we have to do is rejec…
Psalm 100:1–2 KJV. Make a joyful noise unto the lord all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. The Message. On your feet now – applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. I had to memorize the KJV in third grade. I can say that to this day, I can still recite most of it, especially these two verses. Although I love the poetry feel of the language of the KJV, these lines in The Message paint a wonderful picture. We are giving God a standing ovation as we sing, clap, and laugh with happiness. Why don’t we do this in church every once in a while? As a congregation, we d…
Psalm 100:1-2
One thing our Pentecostal brothers and sisters do well is shout to the Lord. Their worship is lively and interactive, and I enjoy this aspect of it. There are times I feel the urge to say “Amen,” “Preach” or the like during the sermon, but suppress it because that is not the nature of modern Methodism. I wonder if this was the same when Wesley or Whitefield preached in the open air. As late as the 19th and early 20rh century, Methodism was known for very lively tent rallies and stirring worship. Perhaps the Spirit will move again in such a way as to re-ignite this kind of excitement whenn we gather and we feel free to shout…
Psalm 100: 1-2 Shout for joy to the lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
I don’t shout for joy to the Lord, but I do come before Him with joyful song. My appreciation of the song’s words has grown over recent years. I used to concentrate on getting the words and the notes right. Now I study the words and it leads to more appreciation and feeling about what I am doing. God has helped me in this through the directors of the choruses that I have been in. There are many ways for me to grow in faith.
Thank you Lord, I needed that. Amen.
Psalm 100: 1-2 Shout for joy to the lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
Serving God with a sense of joy is a wonderful way to honor Him. As I read the Bible and learn more about God I find that it brings me happiness. What I have learned in the past 3 or 4 years has brought me joy and a better understanding of what Jesus’ birth gave us. I am not a singer, but when I hear the choir sing on Sunday it gives me joy. Thanks to God for all he has given me.
Dearest Lord, knowing you and your Son so much better has brought me great…
