Matthew 25:40

The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

These are the words of Jesus, teaching with a parable which is quite straightforward. God gave us this work to do. If we are wondering about God’s will for His creation, His will for us, the first steps are easy to see. We are to be kind and generous and loving to our brothers and sisters. We are all part of God’s family, and this parable teaches us that if we do little else, helping those in need is enough. God sees all we do, as well as all we fail to do.

Holy Lord, I am truly thankful for your faithful presence and power in my life. Help me to see the opportunities you have set before me to pass on your love and generosity to someone in need. Amen

Matthew 25:40

This passage makes me think of how easy it is for people to pass a judgment on others, by the way they look, by the way they sound, maybe the color of their skin or their accent and even something as detailed as what they may be eating. I would be disingenuous if I said I never did this. But the truth is, we don’t know anything about these people or what their stories are. We should treat them as we want to be treated, extend a hand of friendship, and be willing to help those in need.

Heavenly Father, help me to put my prejudices and judgments aside and help those in need without question. Amen.

I loved today's devotion. This was a church that knew what they were supposed to be and do. They were a small building, a few people, and small finances, yet they did much. They looked around and saw the needs of their community and did their best for them. They truly were serving Jesus in every sense.

Prayer: Gracious God, help us each be part of a church that acts as the hands and feet of Jesus. AMEN

Matthew 25:40

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

God will  never ask us to do more than we can handle. I  may not impress God , because I lack money or,  status,  he only asks that I offer my simple acts of kindness and service to people who most need hope and healing. To sincerely live for God, it's necessary that I accept His lessons and include them into my daily habits and way of life. This involves practicing the lessons  taught in the Bib…

Matthew 25:40 Love mercy, do justice and walk humbly with your God. Micah’s distillation of what God calls us to be and do is echoed in Jesus’ call to service. Selfless service to others, particularly those who cannot reciprocate, is a distinctive feature of Christianity. But we must not ever view this as lording over people. A significant part of serving others is in helping them find and cultivate their own strengths and gifts so that they too can continue to pass the love of Christ forward. The gifts of dignity and agency are priceless and life-changing.

Prayer - Lord, may my service in Your name be the catalyst for even more service from those who are inspired and energized by…
