2 Timothy 2:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
If I do my best, and strive to be transparent in my dealings with others, I can face God with confidence. We don’t ever need to be ashamed when we have tried our hardest and have been honest in doing so. I definitely have an oversized conscience. I am not sure how that happened, because I have been this way since long before I knew much about God. But I feel this verse is not just about knowing right from wrong. It is about making the “right“ choice at the right time. And so, this involves paying attention to the Spirit which lives in us, which will always show us the right way.
Father God, you live within me, showing me the way, the right choice, the kindest and most compassionate way to be. For this I am truly thankful. Amen

2 Timothy 2:15
Timothy was from a Greek/Jewish mixed racial background. Timothy also struggled with a naturally timid character. I only mention this because many who share Timothy’s traits are quickly ignored because they are considered a risk for any responsibility. Paul loved Timothy as a son and had great confidence in him and assigned him many great responsibilities. This verse for today: Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. It was always very easy for me to be a mediocre person. I didn’t have to make much effort of any kind, I did as little as possible, know…

I found this as I was doing some research this morning and found it very interesting. It is from a website called “Connect Us”. The trouble with most people is not that their best for God isn’t good enough. It is that, in reality, they are not giving God their best.
I find that I am included in this explanation. I tell myself that I am doing my very best, but probably am not. Facing truth about oneself is never easy, I just have to work on giv…
2Timothy 2:15 Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. I sometimes feel as if there is so much I do not know about the Bible. Despite learning as a child and teaching to both children and adults, I have never read the Bible cover to cover. I read what I need to read for the topic being studied. Our transformer group has had me opening more pages of my Bible than ever before. Not just looking verses up but studying them and writing my thoughts and feelings about them and, of course, sharing them wi…

This morning Barbara and I were talking about interpreting what the bible says literally vs. interpreting what was meant. This verse is a good example. I read it literally and feel that it says to put on a good front for God, but don’t necessarily show who you really are. For me, this is an example of not being honest or have integrity.
Dear Lord you know who I am without me presenting myself to you in a good light. Help me to present myself to others as you…
