Romans 2:4
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance?
This is an interesting verse to me. It seems to be asking us: Do you really think your behavior is okay, just because God continues to shower you with grace and blessings? God’s grace should always be turning us back to reflection and then repentance. His love for us should lead us to repent for our sins. When I realize all God has done for me, and realize the kind of love that shows, I can’t help but feel remorse for the times I have done the wrong thing.
God above, I am sorry for all of the times I have disappointed you. They are so numerous, it is embarrassing. I don’t deserve your blessings, but you continue to shower them on me. May my behavior better reflect the purity of your love. Amen

Romans 2:4
Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? Another scripture that I have to read the above and below verses to totally understand the message. In his kindness God gives us time to repent. When we try to earn favors from God for our good works, that he wants to give us anyway, will he sometimes hold back with these favors until he realizes that we have to earn them by faith. kindness is what leads us into a relationship with him. He does not have to have any other reason to bless us.. I have to learn how to rece…
Romans 2:4 God‘s patience means everything to me. It allows me to “learn as I go.” I can look back to mistakes I have made, acknowledge them, and I know God sees and understands. This is how we grow as Christians. We are only human, and unlike Jesus, we make lots of mistakes – but he allows us time to learn from them. He never gives up on us. Prayer: gracious God, thank you for your kindness. I will try to live up to your standards. Amen
Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
I read the previous verses today and they led to confusion rather than clarity. They talk to people who judge others for what they are doing themselves, and about God’s judgement on them. This doesn’t lead me to think about God’s kindness. God’s kindness is given to us when we confess and repent and he forgives us for our sins.
Dear Lord I am thankful for your words but sometimes I am confused by them. Give me the patience and understanding to receive the true meaning of them. Amen.
Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
God shows such kindness and patience despite our continued sinful nature. God gives us a chance at repentance before he judges us. It is through God’s love and kindness to us as believers that we grow in grace and knowing Christ more. We believe in Jesus for our salvation. We are so blessed to be God’s children and through Jesus given the chance at redemption.
Dearest Lord, I confess my sins to you with the hope that you know I am truly sorry for the wrongs I have done. Your patience with…
