A Daily Devotion for Tuesday November 30

John 8:32

”Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

The people took Jesus literally, saying they had never been slaves, how could they be “set free”? The truth Jesus was talking about was freedom from the wages of sin. If they would only believe in Him, they could accept this freedom from death, and share in eternal life with God. Jesus = Truth

Heavenly Father, I am so thankful to you for your Word, left for us to continue to learn. You are changing me, day by day, and I am grateful. Jesus is our light, shining on the way to you. Amen

John 8: 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Easier said than done. To live out a life of truth and freedom is simply by seeking God. I can do this by allowing myself forgiveness from my own mistakes, remembering who I am through Christ. I am forgiven. I have been given the precious gift of grace, to become closer to God, I must first remember this truth to be with me at all times. truth heals and nourishes. When we know the truth about something, we can begin the process of healing and growth. It also has a nourishing effect. I have noticed when I turn the pages of Scripture that I feel…

John 8:32 - “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Living a life of truth is liberating in that when one is without guile there is no pressure to remember all ones lies. A web of lies has to be carefully maintained to keep the charade a “secret.” Ironically, this can rarely be done and a reputation as a liar is easy to get and difficult to lose. Accepting the profound truth of the Good News has an even greater liberating effect. The truth that by the cruel and unjustified death of Jesus on a Cross, those who believe are reconciled to God and rescued from the power of sin is a literal commutation…

John 8:32 Believing in Jesus and trying to live the life that mirrors his love, is the truth. The truth gives us a spiritual freedom that helps us avoid sin. In truth, we do not always avoid sin, but our belief in Jesus’ forgiveness gets us back “on track” so to speak. Prayer gracious God, I thank you always for your teachings and truths but most of all for understanding and forgiving my sins. Amen

John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

If we understand and believe Jesus’ teaching then we know that he is telling the truth. That truth will set us free by knowing that we are doing all that we can to live a godly life. We know right from wrong and we are more likely to do the right thing.

Dear Jesus your truth shows me the way but I struggle to keep it in mind in all that I say and do. Reading your word daily and sharing with this group of believers helps. Thank you. Amen.

John 8: 32 “Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

Sin corrupts our thinking and destroys our peace. But the worst result of sin is that it separates us from God. Knowing Jesus, teaches us that He represents truth. Sometimes the truth is not what we want to hear but knowing Jesus and following his teachings brings truth into our lives and will set us free. Freedom is found in the forgiveness of sins. Truth is found when we accept Jesus as our Savior.

Dearest Lord, thank you for sending your Son to us. It is through his teachings that we will be saved and have eternal peace with you. In Jesus nam…
