Proverbs 24:16

…for though the righteous fall seven times,

they rise again,

but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.

Christians are not immune to the trials and hardships of life in this world. But the world can never take away what we already have in Christ. God has promised us He will watch over us and bring us to Him. I believe that if we listen closely, and are vigilant and watchful, God will show us the positive in every situation. I will admit I am not always good at this, but it is a skill I am working on.

Holy Lord, help me to see you in all that appears before me and around me. You will not let me fall without a hand to lift me back up. I am thankful. Amen

Get up again

(Focus: to see God’s faithfulness during setbacks

Proverbs 24:16

For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.

There is an old saying, you can’t keep a good man down.

If we are righteous, we still will fall many times. But we will try again and rise again  A person who trusts in the Lord and depends on God throughout his life, may trip and fall over and over again, but we  won’t stay down. We will overcome obstacles and challenges by God’s grace and strength,  picking ourselves up and start all over again. On the other hand, “One disaster is enough to overthrow the…

Proverbs 24:10-16

Bad, sad, and awful things happen to all of us during our lives. What today's author and the verse from Proverbs reminds us is that, yes, we may "fall" but knowing we have God, Jesus, and/or the Holy Spirit by our side, we can make it through and "rise" again. I'm reminded of a Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers routine--"Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again.

Prayer: Gracious God, Your constant presence in my life is such a comfort and more than I deserve. AMEM

Proverbs 24:16

We all struggle from time to time throughout our lives. We lost the privilege of a perfect life in the garden. We must lean heavily on God to help us through these times, we simply do not have all the answers, especially when we find ourselves in very complex situations or find ourselves laden with self disappointment or doubt. I would be so lost is I did not have God to help me and Jesus to guide me.

Dear God, thank you for Your presence in my life and for being the source of comfort and strength. Help me to always turn to you. Amen

Proverbs 24:16 Every time I have fallen - and it has been decidedly more than seven times - my restoration has not been of my own doing. In fact, I can easily think of instances in which I had fallen and tried to right my situation in my own way only to make matters worse. Having the patience, discipline and trust to put these episodes in life in God’s hands has consistently proven the more excellent way. I am impatient by nature, but am learning. The lessons I have learned all point to relying on God and not my own understanding.

Prayer - God of redemption and hope, thank You for the blessing of Your presence and protection. Life is full…
