1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
This is a tough one. How far do we take this? There certainly are many who have illnesses or injuries or even congenital issues which keep them from being able to use their bodies fully. But this verse only tells me to honor God with my body. So, the body God gave me, he intended for me to honor. What am I capable of doing to honor God? I should not ignore medical issues but should not be overly attentive to superficial issues of appearance. I should be physically active. I should be clean. I think I do some of these things regularly, but certainly could be more consistent. I am so thankful for ‘my’ physical being, but it does belong to God, after all.
Holy Father, you have given me a healthy strong body. I will try not to dwell on small aches and pains, but will be mindful of making healthy and honorable choices. Your Holy Spirit lives in me. Amen

1 Corinthians 6:19

Our bodies are temples of the holy spirit. I think temple is used instead of home because Those who do not belong to Christ do not have the Spirit of Christ residing in them Thus, their bodies are not a temple of the Holy Spirit. Clearly, then, the greatest thing we can do for our bodies is to make them into a temple for God’s Spirit. And we do this by placing our trust and faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior. One way we can…

What a wonderful gift to have the Holy Spirit dwell in my heart. Sometimes I wish he wasn’t there, because he sees firsthand that I am weak and sin. Knowing that He is there is a gift and a great help to me as I navigate this life we have been given. God has been so very good to me. Sending Jesus to free me from sin and the Holy Spirit to guide me along.
Dearest Lord, thank…
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Have you ever had a bad roommate? I was fortunate to never have this experience as a young person, but my sister has and I have spoken with many, youth and adult, who have had this experience. There always seems to be a mess to clean up or a chore left undone. There seems to be no consideration for actions that may offend. Is this how we treat our spiritual roommate, the Holy Spirit?
Prayer - Holy Spirit, I repent of my failure to honor you fully with my body. Despite the dietary indiscretion of youth that requires medication today, God has blessed Your temple in me with good health and the physical tools to serve You…
