Isaiah 32:14-20
The fortress will be abandoned,
the noisy city deserted;
citadel and watchtower will become a wasteland forever,
the delight of donkeys, a pasture for flocks,
till the Spirit is poured on us from on high,
and the desert becomes a fertile field,
and the fertile field seems like a forest.
The LORD’s justice will dwell in the desert,
his righteousness live in the fertile field.
The fruit of that righteousness will be peace;
its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
My people will live in peaceful dwelling places,
in secure homes,
in undisturbed places of rest.
Though hail flattens the forest
and the city is leveled completely,
how blessed you will be,
sowing your seed by every stream,
and letting your cattle and donkeys range free.
The Holy Spirit has become more and more evident to me. I did not cause this to happen, of course. Rather, the Holy Spirit has continued its work in me, and I have finally been able to put some pieces into my puzzle. I have learned a bit more about what it can mean to be created “in the image of God.” Also, the reminders that “God is love” have taken on new meaning for me. God never ceases to exist, and He does not hide from us. These all read like disjointed, random thoughts, but in my heart, God has continued to put the puzzle together.
Holy Lord, I am truly thankful. You have blessed me beyond measure. Amen

Isaiah 32:14-20. Spirit that Gives life
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Three in one. I didn't really separte them in my mind until I got older. I do now and rely on the Holy Spirit to guide all I do. After all, Jesus told the disciples he was leaving them an advocate, helper, and comforter to dwell within them/us. Another wonderful gift given to us.
Prayer: Gracious God, my relationship with the/my Holy Spirit has grown on me with age. AMEM
Isaiah 32:14-20
Centuries before Pentecost, the prophet Isaiah foretold the Spirit’s coming and even wrote of the fruit of the Spirit. The OT prophecies that came to pass are far too numerous and specific to be mere coincidence or, as many cynical skeptics insist, orchestrated by people to make it appear the prophesies were accurate. To a person of faith they stand as evidence that Scripture is indeed the living, active word of God. Our individual stories are unfolding in the eternal now of God’s kingdom. If we do not embrace the Holy Spirit and the fruit produced by that embrace, life can be an empty, bitter slog to a bleak end without hope.
