A Daily Devotion for Thursday, July 9

Matthew 16:13-20

verse 17: Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.”

God really knows how I learn best. He repeats the same lesson to me over and over until I can more easily see it In life, on my own. Recently this has been the lesson: God provides the increase. I cannot grow or be “better” on my own. I cannot influence others alone, but with God’s help they may see things differently.

Holy Father, Help me, please. I have always wanted to make a difference to someone, to something. I know you provide the increase, not me. Use me, Lord, for good. Amen
