Psalm 25:1-11
In you, LORD my God,
I put my trust.
I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
No one who hopes in you
will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those
who are treacherous without cause.
Show me your ways, LORD,
teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you, LORD, are good.
Good and upright is the LORD;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful
toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
For the sake of your name, LORD,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
The verses from Proverbs 3 are so packed with wisdom! Every line holds a truth which speaks to me this morning, especially the third line: “in all your ways submit to him.” To submit to Him we must have faith, wisdom, trust, and hope in His promises. These verses make a perfect prayer:
Holy Lord, I trust you with my whole heart. Help me to look to you when I am struggling. When I don’t know which way to turn, help me to simply follow you. With you, I am on the right path. Amen

Psalm 25:1-11 / Proverbs 3:5-6
The concept of trust comes up a lot in this group. I wish I was better at trusting, at turning over my worries, at not trying to figure out everything on my own. It takes a very concerted effort on my part to begin each day by trusting God instead of relying only on my own abilities. It isn’t at all as difficult as I make it.
Dear God, please keep me humble and willing to turn my concerns over to You, to trust You beyond my own understanding. Amen
Psalm 25:1-11/Proverbs 3:5-6
We have discussed trust very frequently when the Transformers get together, as it is a concept so integral to all of Scripture. Submission is the flip side side of that spiritual coin that conveys the depth and genuineness of our trust. Discernment comes into play when we try to sort out what actions emanate from our own understanding and what actions reflect God’s will for us in that moment. This process is a bit easier if we keep our lines of communication going through prayer, reading of the Word and reflection on what we read. Being part of this group checks all three boxes and honors God.
